Ralph’s World
Sunday, June 7th, 2009
We took Isadora to her first concert today to see Ralph’s World. Most kids music is totally obnoxious. Some of it will make you want to pierce your eardrums just to ensure you never have to hear it again. Ralph’s World is not like that! The music is very family friendly music–stuff kids love, and [...]
Isadora’s First Birthday Present
Friday, June 5th, 2009
The first present Izzy opened was from Grandma Suzanne.
Happy First Birthday Isadora!
Wednesday, May 27th, 2009
We took Isadora to the Oakland Zoo on her first birthday.
We also brought her favorite playtime friends, Anneke and Jyoti.
This giraffe family was my favorite.
It was close to feeding time and the chimps were going crazy. They started swinging around the trees and shrieking. The cacophony was starting to bother the girls, so we left. [...]
Sensory Food Aversion
Wednesday, May 27th, 2009
The fancy new term for “picky eaters.” I found a very interesting article discussing a study of picky eaters. I was such a picky eater, and fit a lot of the characteristics they outlined. I don’t recall being antsy or anxious around food though. I had no qualms telling people what I was and was [...]
Catching Up

Grandma Judy was here for a brief visit recently. She just acquired a baby grand piano and has been playing around trying to teach herself how to play. She was showing some of the new chords she learned.

He [...]

We have a teething baby who got a really nasty diaper rash yesterday. I think the chlorine in the pool might be a tad uncomfortable on her chaffed heiny so we’re going to skip swimming today. We are experiencing lovely spring weather this weekend so we decided to take a stroll up the hill to [...]

I’ve been too busy to write anything. Here are some videos to keep you entertained.
A fun day at the aquarium
Sunday, March 8th, 2009
We went to the Academy of Sciences today with Sarah and Ethan. They have a family membership so we got to go during member only hours (less crowded) and it was free! I went many times as a child and it was so much fun to remember various field trips and visits with my parents.
Izzy [...]
Trader Joe’s is pretty awesome!
Saturday, February 28th, 2009
I love shopping at Trader Joe’s. Their offerings provide so many short cuts to decent nutritious meals. Some of my favorite things include:
Frozen organic brown rice
Vacuum sealed fava beans, lentils and beets
Frozen veggies
These items are generally single ingredient items–meaning the organic brown rice is only that. No preservatives; no added sodium. I stock my fridge [...]
Where does the time go?

Click image to enlarge. I’m pretty sure you can easily substitute “stay at home mom” with “stay at home dad.”
