So sweet it’ll make you cry
Izzy was particularly fussy this evening. I couldn’t quite figure it out. She didn’t seem hungry. I thought she might have been tired, but wouldn’t take a nap. I thought she was hot, so I stripped her down to her diaper. She whined the entire time I was trying to cook dinner. I put her in the bouncy chair. Whine. I put her in the swing. Whine. I put her on the play mat. Whine. Finally, when dinner was ready, I cut up my food so I could easily eat with one hand and hold Izzy with my other arm so I could feed her while I fed myself. She just wasn’t hungry, but the whining finally stopped! All she wanted was to be cuddled. She looked up at me and smiled and giggled and smiled some more. Then, when she couldn’t possibly be any cuter, she reached up with her arm and stroked my cheek. I thought my heart was going to explode. It was so awesome. When Mitch finished eating, he took her from me so I could finish my meal–it’s really hard to each couscous while holding a squirmy baby. As soon as Mitch cradled Izzy in her arms, she reached up and stroked his beard, then grabbed his nose. It was a beautiful sight.
Mom and Daughter
I finally have a nice photo of Isadora and me that I can post. All other photos I have from the last two months are composed of Izzy clamped onto the snack bar, and me in various states of undress.
P.S. I got my hair cut. What do you think?
Visit with Auntie Leslie
Leslie was in town a couple of weeks ago to meet her new little niece. It was really nice to be able to hang out with Leslie during her visit. I usually have to work when she’s here. We took a nice stroll downtown one day and did a little shopping. We had grocery store sushi from Bristol Farms then we had cream puffs from Beard Papa for desert. Yum! Another evening, we went to Jackson Fillmore for dinner. We always take Mitch’s family there when they’re in town. They lost our reservation somehow, but still managed to seat us. We had a perfect a table. That place is tiny, but they sat us in the back and we had room for Izzy’s car seat. She, of course, was perfectly asleep through the entire meal.
Leslie had fun playing with her niece and nephew.

Visit with Grandma Judy.
My mom came to town for a visit today. We loaded Izzy up in the stroller and walked down to The Crepe House for breakfast. We both had the Crab Cake Florentine. YUM!
It was a really warm day today, so I didn’t want to stay cooped up in the hot apartment. We took another walk up to the post office to drop off a package. On our way back home, we stopped off at Dolce Gelato for a snack. My mom got the Coconut Macadamia Nut and I got the Peanut Butter Cioccolati. Delicious.
Isadora was great all day long–taking in the sites between naps while we walked around the neighborhood.
It was still too warm to sit in the apartment so we hung out in our courtyard for a little while before my mom had to drive back home.
