When Izzy cooks dinner

On September 3, 2010, in Kid, by Wendy

I have a lot of fun now that Izzy has entered the world of make believe. Sometimes I am able to use it to my advantage. If she won’t do something I’ve asked he to, I’ll repeat the request, something like: Christopher Robin says he really likes it when you let mommy help brush your teeth. Or… Pooh says you should clean your room now.

I know this tactic has a limited shelf life, so I’m going to milk it for all it’s worth until it is gone. After that, I suppose I will break down and bribe with stickers like everyone else does.

Tonight, Izzy warned to make me pretend dinner after we ate our real dinner–we had baked chicken, carrots and potatoes. We also shared a couple of small bites of dark chocolate for dessert. It was her first time and she LOVED it. Since she’s been getting a few more treats lately, I figured her dinner would consist of chocolate, cookies and ice cream. But no. She fed me pasta, chicken and broccoli. I feel so blessed that she likes good food and thinks about it during play time. Whatever we’re doing seems to work for now. I hope we keep up this heathy eating streak.
